a letter from pressia

“Artists are people driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide.”
— Donald Winnicott.

I’m Pressia, and i’m so happy you’re here.

I’ve been writing from the time I was a little girl– for the most part essays, or creative pieces for english literature in school. But also, many diary entries left unfinished late night before bed.

Things have inevitably evolved since then, including the themes I write about in my diary now. Living in our world can be overwhelming, with emphasis on practicality and efficiency, and yet still, there is deep yearning for moments of intimacy and meaning.

I advocate for a slower approach to living, leaving room for magical and fulfilling moments to reach us.

My intention is to evoke emotion, leave you inspired, or with lingering thoughts that catch you when you need them during your sweet odyssey! What is written in my diary are my most vulnerable expressions, naturally, I promise to keep things vulnerable with you too.

“It’s like talking to Hemingway in a bar. You’re both drunk, can’t fully remember what was said, but you remain with something. that is how your writing hits me.”
love from my Twitter community.

I am influenced heavily by the mysteries of the world. In the letters housed here, you will be drawn into, or reminded of the depth of life’s in-betweens— unconventional concepts on conscious living, romanticism, freedom, curiosity, love, feminine play…

and a little poem every now and then.

I have been nudged in the direction of publicizing my musings by my parents, teachers, girlfriends, and social circles; who have expressed admiration and encouragement. For this, I am extremely grateful.

Thank you for allowing me to give respite from the ordinary.

Bisous,
P.
